Holiday in Kota Kinabalu

We stayed in this BEAUTIFUL place called Sutera Harbour. If you're reading this, GO there if you're thinking of a quiet place for a honeymoon, a time to just read or just to enjoy the sun and the sea.

View from our room

Snorkelling (by the way, we were in the waters for 3 hrs!! So imagine our wrinkled skin)

At the pool bar

A view of Kota Kinabalu in the background (Finally! a family picture!)

At the foot of a small waterfall after a long trek. Everyone enjoyed themselves, especially Ethan (pardon the RA shot)

And finally, the food! Seafood is the main staple. After 3 days of seafood, we asked around to find out what else there was to eat and everybody plainly said "Seafood lor, we're famous for it!" So here are some yummy pictures

Oysters bigger than my palm                                                    Fresh medium sized prawns

Daddy and Mummy ate this for dinner and all for just S$70!

Mummy's favourite. Cockles! And it's 10x bigger than the ones we eat in S'pore.

Just before the term ended in end May, we were invited to Marcus' mini class performance. Here's the video:

And these are his drawings. I must say they're very very nice! (Mummy is such a showoff :))

Marcus's idea of how a pig and a cow looks like :) Love the spots ..                  And how a sheep looks like

Backfire again

Didi Marcus has a bad habit of (or a smart way) getting Gor Gor Gerald to pick up his things after him. He'll say things like "i'm tired Gor Gor. Can you help me?" or "Gor Gor, just now you play my toy right? Can you keep it?"

Mummy tried to get him to be more helpful, but 1 day it backfired.

The boys had just finished colouring and it was a mess.

Mummy: Marcus, can you help to keep everything please?
Marcus: But Gor Gor also use the colour pencils and colour. How come he's not helping?
Mummy: Gor Gor always help you, so now it's your turn to help him. You must learn to help one another.
Pause
Marcus: Then why aren't you helping me?
Mummy: Erm .....

If you drink, don't drive

We were driving in the car, on the way to church and Daddy was drinking Ribena out of the bottle, while driving

Gerald (frowning): Daddy, if you drink, don't drive
Mummy squealed and laughed cos he really took the ad on "if you drink, don't drive" very seriously!

Take leave vs take lift
The boys at Pasir Ris Park
[info]gantots
Daddy and Marcus were having a discussion

Marcus: are you working today, Daddy?
Daddy: Yes, dear
Marcus: Then how come you didn't work yesterday?
Daddy: Because i took leave yesterday
Marcus: Then how come you didn't take leave today?
Daddy: Because i need to go back to work
Marcus thought for awhile, and then ask again: How come you cannot take leave today?
Then he pointed to the lift outside our house .....

No wonder Marcus had a puzzled look on his face, when Daddy said he didn't "take leave" today ... He was asking about the lift when Daddy thought he was asking about "leave"!

Does Jesus have toys?

The Gans had their family altar time yesterday and partook of communion together. Conversation below took place between Marcus and Daddy.

Marcus: Daddy, Jesus loves children right?
Daddy: Yes, my dear (with a smile on his face)
Marcus: Then, does he have toys in heaven? Does Jesus play with toys?
Mummy couldn't remember what Daddy replied, because she was laughing very hard ...

Awww....

It's not very often that Mummy can get Daddy to pose for the camera. So this shot is particularly dear to her ..

Di Di Ethan enjoying a moment with Daddy...or is it the other way? :)

I think after a few minutes, Di Di Ethan realised that it wasn't that comfortable after all ...

Marcus's Term 1 Graduation from Tien Hsia

In the blink of an eye, Marcus has completed a full 6 months at Tien Hsia Language School at Eastpoint Mall, Simei.

The initial 2 lessons was tormenting because he would drag his feet, and chicken out the moment we stepped into the Centre. But slowly, he gained confidence and Mummy also thinks it's because the teacher was nice and the lessons were entertaining to him :)

In the blink of an eye, us older boys have completed Term 1 at our new schools. Whew! A week of sleeping in late, no Chinese spelling or English spelling to learn and a few days of fun with Daddy, Mummy and Di Di Ethan!

Day 1: Ice Cream at Swensons!
Day 2: Night Safari with God Parents

In case, you're wondering where Ethan was, he was sleeping snugly in Mummy's sarong most of the time :)

Day 3: Pasir Ris Park

We particularly liked our day at Pasir Ris Park :)

Gleeful Gor Gor Marcus on the mini flying fox   Ethan's 1st ride on a swing. Doubt he liked the experience :)

Gors gors practising their balancing act. And they were really good!

Daddy has been on the ball recently. Helping to bathe, change and feed Di Di Ethan. Last night, after he finished reading his papers, he changed Ethan, without Mummy asking him.

Mummy: Wow! Daddy is changing Ethan. So proud of him!

Marcus: Wow Daddy! I give you stickers later!

Gerald: Wow Daddy! I give you Tiger Beer later!

Wahahaha!!!!
